Founder & CIO
Nishant Gupta
Nishant Gupta has over fifteen years of experience, specializing in the energy transition sector. In 2024, he founded Kanou Capital, leveraging his extensive understanding of energy transition landscape. Before this, Nishant was a partner at Clean Energy Transition, which began at Lansdowne Partners, and he joined the team in 2019. Nishant's career in finance started at Fidelity Investments, where he worked from 2008 to 2017, across Boston, Hong Kong, and London. He then worked at TT International from 2017 to 2019. Earlier in his career, Nishant worked as a system engineer in Japan and India, demonstrating his diverse professional experience. He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School in New York and a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.

Manish Boyat
Manish has extensive experience in developing systematic and high-frequency trading platforms for cash and derivatives markets across Asia. Prior to joining Kanou Capital, he was at Tower Research Capital, where he led the creation of a comprehensive trading infrastructure, focusing on research, risk management, and market data. His previous roles include managing algorithmic trading and market-making platforms at Lighthouse Financial Technologies, and building robust research and trading frameworks at RKR Capital. Manish has also held significant positions at Barclays Capital and Goldman Sachs, where he developed and maintained pricing and risk models for equity derivatives. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai.

Shishir Singh
Shishir Singh is an experienced equity research professional with nearly two decades of multi-sector expertise across Asia, including Auto & Auto Components, Cement, Shipping, Chemicals and Renewables. Shishir has earned recognition as an Asia Money ranked analyst with a strong track record of non-consensus calls across his coverage space. His earlier career includes roles at Nomura in Hong Kong and as well as HSBC. Shishir holds an MBA in Finance from NTU Singapore and both M.Tech and B.Tech degrees in Electrical Engineering from IIT Bombay.

Abhishek Sinha
Abhishek is a senior investment professional with 15+ years of experience in the energy transition sector. Prior to joining Kanou Capital, he was the Managing Director of Equity Research at Northland Capital Markets, where he led the coverage of solar, wind, storage, and alternative fuels. Before that, he served as a Senior Analyst at Excelsior Energy Capital, focusing on valuation, due diligence, and execution of renewable energy investments. Abhishek also held the role of Senior Equity Analyst at Thrivent Asset Management. His earlier career includes positions at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Con Edison, and Baker Hughes. Abhishek holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from R.V. College of Engineering in Bangalore.

Jonathan Cummins
​Jonathan Cummins has two-decade of experience in industrial stocks. At Kanou Capital, he leverages his deep expertise in industrial supply chains and global cyclicals to deliver high-conviction investment ideas. Before joining Kanou Capital, Jonathan was the Head of Research at Pantechnicon Advisors from 2021-2024, where he focused on market-neutral investing across developed market cyclicals. Previously, Jonathan covered industrial stocks at Fidelity for 12 years and also served as Assistant Portfolio Manager. A CFA charter holder, Jonathan holds a degree in Economics from the University of Bristol.

Irakli Gabidzashvili
Irakli has experience in equity research, strategic finance, and M&A. He earned his Master in Finance from London Business School in 2023, graduating with high honors. Previously, as a Senior Manager at TBC Bank PLC, he led financial analyses and M&A projects, including international expansion and digital ecosystem initiatives. His early career at KPMG Georgia involved significant M&A processes and sector-specific research.
