Led by Nishant Gupta, Kanou Capital is an energy transition hedge fund manager. This is a continuation of the work Nishant has been doing at Clean Energy Transition and Fidelity. He brings over 15 years of global buy-side equity investment experience, including roles in Tokyo, New York, Boston, Hong Kong, and London.

Strategy

Kanou's focus is on picking stocks from a broader universe, which includes core energy transition equities in CleanTech and Electric Mobility, as well as sectors impacted by the transition, such as energy, industrials, chemicals, mining, utilities, and technology.

Portfolio

The portfolio consists of concentrated ideas. The position sizing is based on company-specific idiosyncratic and macro risks, liquidity, edge, and risk/reward with factor awareness. Kanou dynamically monitors risk/reward, custom factors, and crowding exposure on a real-time basis.
